Everyone has their magic happy moments.<\/span><\/p>

Mine are amongst spending time with loved ones, greenery, the ocean and if I can spot some animals in their habitat, that makes my heart sing.<\/span><\/p>

It\u2019s almost like a meditation watching a cat\u2019s belly breathing when sleeping, seeing the sun touching the green and turquoise feathers from a flock of parakeets rising up in a London Park, a sunset full of different hues of orange, red and blue out of the window, taking in the wide view of the sea on a sunny day with its soothing waves, being excited to seeing a clear night sky with the stars\u2026<\/span><\/p>

Appreciating nature makes you think about your own wild, however weird, soul.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>

You start to lean into seasons, connecting little by little to things which give you energy whilst navigating the normal (chaotic) life around us. After a while you get more aware of your body, what you put into and onto it and it\u2019s challenging old beliefs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

It\u2019s a step-by-step long term transition and yes, no one seems to have time and I\u2019m impatient too.<\/span><\/p>

However, everything starts with a simple step.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>

I suddenly got eeked out by having plastic (polyester fabric) on my skin with t-shirts because they sit directly after underwear on my skin. So I started checking the labels and lo and behold, regular online\/physical stores offer mostly a lot of blends: 50% cotton\/50% polyester and usually fancy tops contain 100% polyester or are blended with elastane for stretch. This fabric elasthane together with polyester, nylon, acrylic, spandex and lycra are derived from crude oil.<\/span><\/p>

According to the Changing Markets Foundation in 2024, synthetic fibres derived from fossil fuels became the choice for manufacturers fast fashion retailers, because they\u2019re cheaper. They\u2019re also pointing out that plastic fibres account for over two-thirds (69%) of textile production, a figure projected to rise to 73% by 2030.*<\/span><\/p>

The major thing is also that clothing made with plastics \u201ccan discharge 700,000 microplastic fibres\u201d during washing, that ultimately \u201ccan end up in the food chain.\u201d**<\/span><\/p>

The crazy thing is only 1% of used clothes are recycled into new clothes.**<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>

The rest is incinerated or shipped out to other countries to do what\u2026mountains of old clothes rotting around on land or on beach shores is a shocking sight.<\/span><\/p>

What can you do?\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>


A few suggestions:<\/span>

\u2022 Wear what you currently have
\u2022 Minimise washing if possible
\u2022 Check the the label
\u2022 Buy better quality clothes...and then chill.

According to the charity WRAP (Waste & Resources Action Programme) wearing your clothes for a minimum of just nine months, reduces its carbon, water, and waste footprints by 20% to 30%.<\/span><\/p>
